In brief
- Agree scope, responsibilities and schedule in writing before work starts.
- Construction, plumbing and electrical work must be planned together.
- Clarify cost and timing before any change is carried out.
Agree the scope before work starts
Before starting, we should review the drawings, requirements and material choices. What will stay, and what needs replacing? What is included in the quotation, and what is excluded? I want these questions addressed in writing so that we share the same starting point.
Coordinate construction, plumbing and electrical work
Pipe routes, electrical points and building work affect one another. Kitchen and bathroom layouts therefore need to be considered alongside the technical solutions. The agreement should specify the work included, who coordinates the trades and who your contact will be.
Plan progress and manage changes
A schedule should show the order of work and when decisions are needed. If requirements or conditions change, the implications for cost and timing should be clarified before the change is carried out. This gives both you and the people doing the work a clearer basis for proceeding.
An example from Akershus
In the kitchen and bathroom renovation in Akershus, both rooms were delivered as one coordinated project. The project page shows images, material choices and the work involved. It is a specific example, not a promise of the same scope or duration for every job.
Tell me what you are planning
Considering a renovation or building project? Get in touch and describe your plans, ideally with images or drawings. We can then look at your needs and clarify the next step.
